Young Volunteers

Jade Shelton : I am 17 years old and a Member of the Junior committee for The Hangout.  I help out at the session for the younger kids with the tuck shop or playing games with them.  I also help with fundraising for the club.  My hobbies are singing and acting I am currently in my second year at college in Hull studying the Performing Arts and have the aspirations of becoming an Actress!

Danni Pickering : I am 28 years old and have a degree in youth crime, I recently had my 1st child and she has the official title of "Youngest Hangout Member!" I am from a large family so used to been around a lot of kids!  I have volunteered at The Hangout since we 1st opened and can say we have a brilliant time every week. The kids of the town need somewhere to go that is safe on an evening and that is proven by the fact we have well over 40 kids every week at our sessions with new members joining all the time. I am also a trained first aider.

Adele Wainwright : I'm happily married with 5 teenage boys so you could say I'm used to the rough and tumble that comes with kids!  I have my first aid certificate, I know British Sign Language to level 3. I also have a youth work and level 1 counselling qualification.  I first got involved with the youth club when I saw a post on Facebook asking for people to help volunteer before it opened as I enjoy working with kids and want to help it progress into an even more successful group that will benefit the whole community.

Jo Miles : I'm a happily married mum of 2 teenagers and step mum to many!  I had the idea of starting a youth club back in spring of 2013 after talking to one of our town centre PCSO's Bev Feirn.  After numerous hours of working on the set up and meetings with Lords Feoffees I secured the funding for our rent and a few basic items and now here we are up running whilst having plenty of fun!  I am a Brid born and bred and quite proud of the fact I do like living in Brid! Yes it has its problems but where doesn't? I have qualifications in British Sign Language to level 3, youth work, teaching assistant and First aid.
